Letter From Robert (3/21/2000)
| This letter was written by Robert especially for a snail mail newsletter that almost was.
The newsletter will still happen, it will just take awhile because of some technical difficulties. I thought I would share this with non-members as well, since the newsletter is partly meant for those that don't have much web access. Enjoy! |

hey y'all. I'd like to offer up a hearty huh huh hullo there to all you
fans, followers and otherwise freaks (you know who you are SyFyman).
thanks for staying in tune with the show. Unfortunately, I've had to take a few steps back from it to gain a bit of perspective on the whole thing, being that I live, breathe, eat and live the show 24/7 for 8 1/2 months while in toronto. I'm busy trying to regain the semblance of a somewhat normal life in New Jersey (if that's possible , thefreak gene was cultivated here) with family and friends. As I usually say doing the show is like running a marathon. Much debriefing is needed following the race. So I hightailed it to Cuba for a week paying my homage to Fidel (cuba libres y muchas mojitas) and assuaging the strained relations re: Elian by being very kind to the cuban mujeres. I just got back from my first convention and it was truly the dog's bullocks!!!! Von, Richard, and I were in London and boy do those people know how to party! I let them know that it was my "virgin" tour and to take it easy on me. What a hospitable lot they were. Kind and genuinely concerned that I was never in need of a drink. My special thanks to Sean Harry for inviting me over and all the hard work he did as well as his staff to make sure we were well taken care of . He puts out a publication called 5 Times and I sincerely hope it continues to gain popularity and support. Thanks again to all the Brits for their loyal commitment to the genre. I also have an interesting event scheduled in April to speak at a school in South Central Los Angeles where this very interesting progressive teacher uses the show as a tool to teach kids how to use their minds instead of guns. He's a consummate student of the show himself. He related to me that the show has reaffirmed his Hindu faith. My wish is that the show helps to infuse a sense of hope to some of his students. This same man is a Vietnam veteran and has created a rapport with vets at a VA hospital in LA. He has discussed the episode Deja Vu with them and conveyed to me the impact it has had on easing their suffering. It sent chills down my spine knowing that these men who suffer silently across our nation are for a moment revered for thier supreme sacrifice. I gratefully acknowledge their heroism and salute their bravery in what must be a daily struggle to amend the private horrors. WE all privately search for meaning in our lives. So as I shared with my five year old nephew a week ago ..... He was learning to open a combination lock and referred to it as a mystery. He said," Uncle Robert, life is like a mystery" I said that's right and the key or "combination" is to just live it! It's our new credo. Be Well,
